i went out to see a musical (hedwig) production tonight. in the restroom after the show, i noticed the slightly ruddy mucus that heralds the beginning of my monthly flux. i didn't think much of it, figured i could wait until i got home.

except i forgot.

now, four hours later, i realize that my undies are sodden. oops.

good thing i keep a sheet over the futon.

i don't think the blood made it onto the sheet yet, but i should really be in the bathroom instead of posting this.

you'd think that i'd have learned by now, after all--i've been experiencing this cycle for 13 years. no. not me. i don't learn. ;)

time to go shower, pop a few naproxen so the cramps don't awaken me, and dig out the cloth pads.

la la la.

Hi all. This is my first post here... I have a question I hope you can help me with...

This is my second cycle on the pill (Cyclessa)... It's a new brand of pills because the last ones (Nordette) were making super depressed and giving me insane mood swings.
I'm only on day 13 and started spotting yesterday. At first it was very little, and dark brown. I figured it was just old, left over blood from last month.
So it got a bit heavier as the day moved on and by last night I needed to actually wear a tampon. Before I went to bed, I checked the situation, and I found RED blood and a lot of it. just like a regular period. So I put a pad on and went to bed. This morning I woke up with more blood, red, and cramping. I've been cramping on and off for a few days now.

So what the heck is going on??? Is this normal? I know it's normal to spot a bit the first cycle you're on the pill, but this isn't the first cycle.... and it's not spotting. It's like an actual period. Anyone have any ideas?

***THIS OFFER HAS EXPIRED. I'm leaving the post here though, for record-purposes.****

Hi everyone. I bought a supersize pack of Instead softcups and I've tried a few of them, and it's clear to me they're not going to work. I get cramps from using them and tampons also cause me to cramp so I'm guessing I'll just stick with pads.

ANYWAY, I have about 20 left, and I don't want them to go to waste. I've asked around to several friends and family members and none of them even want to test them out. So I thought I'd offer here to mail a sample pack or divide them up among those of you who comment and are willing to mail me your address. So if you're curious about Instead, here's your chance to get at least one free one (I'll even pay shipping) and try it out. You'll have to go to www.softcup.com to see usage instructions, but otherwise it's all covered. (I will send out of the US in return for a letter or note or trinket or something little like that because the postage will be killer probably. Also this is limited to the first twenty who respond. I'll edit this entry when I run out to not waste you ladies' time. I'm sending the stuff out on Monday in brightly colored envelopes with padding around the Instead so hopefully it will go through the mail okay.)

If your interested, comment/email me at sabby_darling at hotmail dot com and we'll work out the details.
