Hi, I'm new. My name is Katie.

I've been having really irregular periods lately, if I have them at all. Between April and the end of June I didn't get my period. Then when I did finally get it again in I think late June, it was really light. And then at the end of July it was just barely even spotting. I'm only 14 and I got my period two years ago in December (on Christmas I was on my first period, thanks a lot mother nature!). I remember the first year of it between March and July I didn't have a period. That's normally the most stressful part of the year though. It was regular from that July till April of 2004.

Is this normal? I've read EVERYWHERE that it can take a couple years for it to be normal but just when I thought it was-it was gone. (And I'm not sexually active so I don't have to panic and think "oh god, am I pregnant?".) I kind of enjoy not having but it because I think it's just so disgusting to bleed through your crotch-but I don't get any cramps which is good. Is there any kind of vitamin or nutrient that I should be eating more of? I stopped consuming milk and most other dairy products (except cheese <3) and I don't eat much meat. And I feel really uncomfortable talking to my mom because it makes me feel awkward. But she probably thinks it's kinda weird that I haven't asked for any tampons for a while.

So, I'm usually irregular. Okay, no problem.

Came home from school this summer and got my period once. Yeah, so this morning my vagina lets me know with a little pinkage that it's going to start perioding. How great is that? I'm going to be on a 6 (probably longer due to headwinds and bad weather) HOUR FLIGHT TOMORROW!!! Which I know will be my heaviest day this cycle.

Hey guys, I'm new. So, I have an important question (note: i read the memories!) but lately my period has been even really late, as late as a week late, or really early, such as now, it's exactly a week early. It's irregular, obviously, and it's starting to get annoying, because before I didnt keep track, but lately I have, and I've been off each time. I'm aware to count the 28 day period from the day you start your period, and mine is ALWAYS off. I wanted to get on the pill, although Im not currently sexually active, I've been told it regulates the period cycle, but I saw that it can give you problems, and w/ my mothers history of hormonial problems, I dont think I'm planning to get on that pill for awhile until neccesarry, but here's the big question:

Are there ANY pills that are reccommended for regulatiing a period, and a site to give info?

Thanx!

Ugh. Got results back from the doc today. Bacterial vaginosis is totally cleared up (nevermind that it took almost the entire length of time between last cycle and this cycle to get it cleared up - stupid medicine that doesn't work properly)

Also, a curse on the goddamn insurance company that refuses to reimburse me for the $60 antibiotics. Because I picked them up from student health and not an "in-network" pharmacy. And had I known my parents had switched insurance companies, I would have gone to a bloody network pharmacy, but of course, no one saw fit to tell me "Hey, I quit my job and got a new one so your old insurance card won't work and you need to follow all these new rules"

Oh, and apparently, I am "anemic" and need to take iron supplements, despite the fact that I'm a regular blood donor and have more than enough iron to satisfy the red cross. I hate doctors.

I've been to the gyn four times in the last month, and still have one more appointment to go (to get my Mirena inserted. Hooray for peace of mind). I am so so so sick of the smell of the health center. Thank goodness I'm graduating soon and will never have to deal with student health again.

Hey, Im new here. My name is Megan and I'm 16 years old. I've had my period for a little over 2 and a half years (if it matters). My question has nothing to do with menstruating but I dont know where to ask it, anyway, I was wondering, what exactly does a females hymen look like? Where is it located exactly? I know its kinda like a falp of skin over the vaginal openning, but that doesnt say much. Can anyone help me here? Please and thank you!
