I read back in the memories and someone brought this up like...4 years ago.

But i figured i'd try again and hopefully spark lots of menstrual happiness.

Has anyone ever read The Red Tent? (written by Anita Diamant)

Its an amazing book, and it honestly makes you have so much menstrual pride that its awesome.

Its based off the bible (but not a hardcore religious kinda thing, my religion doesnt even acknowledge the existance of the old testament). It follows Jacob's wives and one of his daughters. Its my absolute favorite book. And of course, you can imagine that the RED TENT itself is the menstrual tent. sorta like a MENSTRUAL HUT?! awesome.

i recomend that if you havent already read it, it is most definitely a must for the average period-lovin'-lady.

just my random post to take away from the mundane "im having a period problem", to remind us that no matter how many problems we have, we still love it.

Okay, so here goes.

We decided a while ago that we were going to start TTC #2 in April 2005. We have been using withdrawl successfully for years, no hormonal bc. Our first daughter who is almost 4, was concieved with such a freak accident I can hardly believe it was possible. That, combined with the fact that I have always had regular periods, made me believe it would be pretty easy to get pregnant with #2. I am 25.

Well, I decided to really start charting in January to get ready. I have "taking charge of your fertility" and am very aware of my cycle in general. Well, all of a sudden in February I didn't get my period! We didn't do temps, but I didn't have any reason to believe I was pregnant. Negative test as well. I got my period after 42 days. My normal cycle is 31 days.

I think it just might be a fluke. Then, the next period is 47 days coming! Inconsistent CM, negative test. Then I bled lighly 18 days later for 3 days (ovulation spotting?) then was 31 days to my next period. Ugh.

This month it was 29 days and then I had a period for 6 days that was definitely there, but lighter than usual. I thought I was ovulating, had a lot of the signs, and then started to bleed HEAVY, amazingly heavy. This is 18 days into my cycle, just about the time to possibly have ovulation spotting. But I have been bleeding for 4 days now, VERY heavy with cramping and the like. I thought this may have been the month for a positive test, but I don't think anyone could survive this bleeding.

Any suggestions? I have always had a regular cycle! I have had some stress during this last year, but I don't know that it was any more than normal and it has at least been consistent. I am starting to feel under pressure because I am going to be starting midwifery school in about 18 months, and I really don't want to have a tiny baby when we move across the country for me to start. I am just all over the place right now, and that makes it so frustrating! We are going to start temping this week.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, x posted a few places as well!
