Jul. 1st, 2003 12:23 pmI'm just finishing my second pack of Yasmin.
I'm not sure who commented on my posts last month, but I appreciated the advice. I'd love it if you could answer my questions again.
The first pack of Yasmin that I took, I spotted for 2 days until I started on Wednesday, day 4 of my inactive pill.
Today is Tuesday, day 3 of my inactive pill, and I'm seeing nothing thus far. Is that normal?

Date: 2003-07-01 01:04 pm (UTC)I've taken Yasmin for over a year and out of the many I've tried I think it's the best. I think the key with this pill is to really try and take it on time every day but you're probably still adjusting. Give it time.
Much Luck!

Date: 2003-07-01 03:16 pm (UTC)I was reading my Yasmin packet, and it talked about the fact that taking Motrin regularly increases potassium. Would that affect my period?
In the past 2 days, I've taken 4 800-mg prescription Motrin pills. That's a total of 2400 mg. In your opinion, would that affect my period this month?

Date: 2003-07-02 09:11 am (UTC)Now this bothered me too. I figured I could push for the test if anything came out strange but nothing has so for. Again I think it's just a matter of your body waiting to regulate itself. But asking your dr never hurts either.
BTW - it took me like 6 months to become stable on Yasmin but my body is very touchy. In fact my weight didn't stabilize until the 9th or 10th month.
Hope this helps some!

Date: 2003-07-02 09:23 am (UTC)Just so you know:
I called my pharmacist yesterday and explained to him the warnings that it states in the Yasmin packet. And he told me that 1 in every 2 million women develop blood clots from taking Yasmin. Motrin is a natural blood thinner. (That's why I take so much right as I'm getting ready to start. It makes me bleed quicker.) He said that the Motrin could disrupt the blood clots and cause problems.
But he said that it was very safe to take, and that I should only be concerned if I had a history of blood clots.
So you should be fine as well. I, too, find that Motrin is the only thing that relieves my pains sometimes. So, I understand your pain.
I started spotting this morning, so I assume that I'll be into the full swing of things by tonight. I guess the 4th day will be my day from now on.
Thanks for all your input! I really appreciate it.
Have a GREAT day!
