I was directed to this community by a friend of mine, and I have some questions that, maybe, can be answered here.

Let's get down to it...^_^

I'm a 19 year old, sexually active (sort of) female. And my period has never been regular, naturally. I did take Ortho-Novum and that regulated it, but when I stopped taking them it went right back to being irregular.

Is this normal? Is there anything I can do to regulate my period short of getting back on the pill? Do any of you women have this?

what do you mean by irregular?

it's perfectly normal to have "irregular" periods. in fact, there IS no such thing as "normal" from one woman to the next. what is normal for you is normal. so if cycles of different lengths are what your body seems to default to, that is probably normal for you, especially if you have no signs that anything is "wrong". this will probably change a number of times over your lifetime. i have had times in my life where my cycles would be perfectly predictable, always 26 or 32 or whatever days apart. i have had times in my life (like now) where my cycles go from 23 days to 29 days to 19 days to 38 days. i chart my cycle, so i know when to expect my period even though my cycles are of different lengths. when my temperature shows that i've ovulated, i know my period will show up in about 11-13 days. (generally, your period will start 12-16 days after you ovulate.)
