so yeah i`m growing to really hate my body.

i just had my period earlier this month..i guess it ended around the 13th. and now, it came again on the 28th. it does this alot...so its like i'm having 2 every month...one in the beginning/middle then another in the VERY last week of the month...sometimes itll be like the first of the next month but this month there was barely even 2 weeks between them.

i started my period when i was in 6th grade....i never had real bad cramps, occasionaly i'd get them..usually just moderate pain and moderate bleeding i could deal with.

i got sexually active i guess near to a year ago...and ever since then i think things have gotten worse. i kno that makes your horomones change and can do all kinds of things to your body....but im getting worried. ive become real irregular, sometimes periods every 2 weeks....sometimes normal.

i get bad cramps. worse than ever before, to the point of crying & lying in bed. aleve, midol, tylenol..nothing cuts it. unless its coedine/tylenol 3, which my sis has a prescription for from her former surgery so sometimes i take that.

the blood...its heavy. i started using tampons like 6 months ago, cause i always felt wet and gross, and they felt cleaner to me. but thats just a random fact. really heavy bleeding...well atleast compare to what i used to have.

also, random times of the month not even near my period..i get bad lower abdomen cramps, for no real reason. and theres been a few times i've noticed spotting/irregular bleeding..but i always blamed it on stress or excess exercise or something like that.
also, i notice around my period and some other times, the lower part of my abdomen where the uterus/ovaries are gets hard..

i have a lot of discharge sometimes too. its usually just white and sticky, for no reason. not aroused, not thinking sexual. and sometimes my stomach will cramp up real bad...and then theres discharge.

i really think something is wrong with my body, and im going to talk to mum and go to a gyno as soon as this periods over, but can anyone give me any clues as to what it is? quite frank...i`m scared. scared there's something seriously wrong with me. even if there is i kno i have to face it eventually and deal with it..but now im looking for some kind of comments/suggestions/reassurance on any possbile causes or solutions to it all?

Go to the doctor.

going to the doctor would probably ease your mind. but maybe you could do some other things to stop hating your body? have you ever thought about getting a keeper to use instead of tampons? you wouldn't have to change it nearly as much. not to mention it puts you in touch w/ your body instead of being alienated from it. also, since tampons can have rayon or dioxins, which totally make menstrual cramps worse, switching to a healthy unbleached alternative would probably make a good deal of your cramps go away.

It's hard to tell from your post how old you are. If you are under 20 still, there might well be a lot of irregularity in your schedule. However, if you are in pain and are having some serious changes in quality of life due to your periods, DO see your doctor right away. If there is nothing physically wrong, he or she might recommend (or you might ask about) some form of hormonal birth control (pill, patch, or implant) to regulate your cycle and ease these symptoms.

I hesitate to say something might be "wrong" with you, but trust your gut feeling that something's not right. One of my friends started having very heavy periods and terrible pain when she had some fibroids on her uterus, and that is treatable.

I agree mightily with the suggestion to get a Keeper. (www.thekeeper.com) Also, consider using those terrific ThermaCare disposable heat packs for easing cramps. I love 'em. One way to get back in touch with your body and learn to love it again is to do nice things for it... warm bubble baths, massages (helpful touching), and any other nice treats it wants. Most of the time I love my body... but there are days when I just throw up my hands and say "right now, it sucks to be a girl!"

I would suggest that you do see a doctor. Not only to ease your mind, but to get some prescription medecine for the bad cramps. I know during different times of the month, I have cramps but it's usually just because of PMS. However, I know sometimes when it's not time for my period or even PMS my stomach gets bloated and I cramp and have some pain in my right side. I went to the doctor before and he said it was more than likely a cyst on my ovary. I know that some discharge is extremely normal too but I'm not sure if there should be cramping with that. I have experienced that somewhat but nothing like you have mentioned. I think you should see your doctor because I believe he can help you much more and pinpoint your problem! Hope this helps some and I hope you get to feeling better!
