I just started on Ortho Tri Cyclen Lo to regulate hormones and periods and what not...

I am EXTREMELY horrible with taking pills, and for the 2 month trial period with this particular drug, my gyno gave me pills instead of the patch cos I have no desire to have the black bandaid ring [and I have quite a few tattoos and I don't want to have any of them covered by a patch >_<]

Do any of you have any tricks you use to remember to take your pills, aside from an obvious alarm or something? I have to take mine at night, at 1030p, cos that's the only time I'm ever home, and I don't get up at the same time every morning.

Any tips/tricks you may use to help you remember your pills would be appreciated :) Thanks.

Put them where you will see them. I keep my pills in a basket on the kitchen counter.

I kept mine in my purse. Every morning when I got to work I'd sit down and take one.
Another idea is to put it by your toothbrush. What are things that you do every day?

if you have a really hard time remembering and the patch isn't an option for you, maybe the Nuvaring might work (after the 2 month trial)? No pills to take and no black bandaid ring...

{and i sympathize, i'm a a -different- daily medication and i'm just awful about taking it :( }

an unobtrusive alarm ....

i have a little sports watch with an alarm on it. i keep it next to my bed, along with my pill pack. the alarm goes off every morning at 9am, i take my pill and if i'm still tired, i go back to bed. if i wake up before 9, i put on my watch until it goes off, i take my pill, then i take off the watch and put it back by my bed. it's not a very loud alarm and i'm a light sleeper, so it's enough to wake me, and if i'm sleeping elsewhere (crashing at a friends or with my guy), i can bring the watch [and alarm] with me.

hmm... i'm ALWAYS online to talk to my friends at 11:00 at night, but during the school year 10:00 was when i would take them.. it was the point in the night where i wasn't usually doing anything, and right before bedtime activities.... my roommate and i took ours at the same time so it was easy to keep up with because there were two of us... i had a watch (you can get one at walmart for 7.00) that went off everyday at 10:00 pm and that helped me remember it at first but i don't use it anymore (i've been on it about a year) :) hope this helps

I take it every morning right after I brush my teeth. It has become a habit. I used to take it at 10 pm - but it was ALWAYS inconvenient when I was out.
