hey all, I have been bleeding like the proverbial stuck pig for days now. I saw a dr @ an urgent care center, but all he did was give me pain killers for the cramps (thx doc, hope i don't bleed out). I have an appt with a gyn on monday, but this is killing me. ok, 8 days on, 4 off the another 5 of heavy bleed.....this MUST end soon (hopefully without me in a hole thx) in 3 short days i soaked 44 pads. 44 FREAKIN PADS!!!! when i called the urgent care doc back about my concerns the bastard's nurse chica explained how i couldn't get anymore painkillers.....WAS I ASKING FOR PAINKILLERS???? no. i was asking about my bleeding. they then recommended i go to the ER. this may not be a concept some people understand, but I AM POOR. going to the ER simply isn't an option considering it is 500 bucks to walk in the door. so i sit here bleeding, hoping i have enough blood left to make it til monday. anyone else have this happen before? have any ideas? live near cincinnati and want to rub my back? ;)

Go and sit in the urgent care centre until they see you?

Phone the gyn's office and ask if there are any sooner appointments you could take? Ask them to phone you if anyone cancels an appointment between now and Monday. Ask them if they can phone the urgent care centre for you to secure you an appointment.

If you're bleeding that much, though, I would really recommend the ER if you can possibly afford it:/

Rich or poor,if you're bleeding so heavily...go to any Emergency Room overnight. I guarantee you, you will NOT be turned away.
But while I am here, may I ask..it's a community for menstrual flow comparisons?
You will not be charged $ 500 to walk in the door. If you're concerned about that, and live until the morning..go to a Doctor's office or Clinic. No one will turn you away.

thx for concern but A. there are only privatized hospitals here...which means YES it will be 500 bucks to walk in and B. i took a heavy narcotic last evening and i woke up feeling (TAHHH DAHHH) somewhat better :)
I spent hours on the phone during this week only to hear "there is nothing more we can do at the urgent care center" and unfortunately this is my lot for the weekend...just force fluids and rest til my gyn appt. ;)

go to the ER!!!! my mom is a nurse (though we're in new england), and you will be seen, i guarantee it! if they turn you away, then they're opening the door for a humongous law suit. the people who can afford the visit pay for the ones that can't, trust me. go in there now, and make sure you say you're bleeding heavily, and tell them how long it's been going on. you'll get the right care at an ER.
