Hey, I'm new to the group, and I have a quick question. I got my period in the middle of the night (ugh) and stained my comforter. I washed it, but the stains wouln't come out. Any advice on anything I could try? Specific cleaners, those handy household remedies? Anything would be greatly appreciated. :)

I use Shout Ultra Gel (with the scrubby brush on the end) and it gets out EVERYTHING!!! Not long ago my SO shaved b4 bed and bled on the pillowcase. The Shout got it out no prob! Good luck!

Best thing to do with blood stains is to soak them in COLD water (not hot water, it will set the stain!) with some salt for a few hours. After that, the stain should come out with a bit of gentle rubbing.

If you've already washed it, you probably need to use something chemical and powerful. Bleach might work, if your comforter is white...

Soak it in cold water, with some oxy clean perhaps. I often do this to my underwear, hehe. I always bleed over. It doesn't get it all out, but a majority of it. What color is the comforter?

I was just thinking yesterday how wonderful Zout is (like Shout, only different 'cause of the Z?) when it got blood out of my egyptian cotton sheets (which I would have been upset about had they been bloodied forever.)

i once heard that some enzyme in human spit can degrade the blood in bloodstains pretty well. haven't done any experiments on this, but it's worth a try.
