I have a little trick.
I don't take any ibuprophen (which, according to my mom, actually stops cramps). I bleed really heavily for two days and am in quite a lot of discomfort from cramping, but by day three, my period is down to the occasional spotting. Maybe I'm crazy, but it seems to work.
If I take ibuprophen, my period is about five days long. So my method shaves two days off.

i thought ibuprophen thinned the blood. oh-wait! i get it! if you bleed less during the time you take it then you bleed more later... right?
