hey again. i'd like to thank everyone who helped me in my last post!! you guys are great. but now i have 2 more questions!

1. pms. i know what it is. but i heard somewhere that not everyone has it. is that right? and if i do have it, will i know? b/c i'm usually grumpy w/ my parents and everything but more so about a week and a half before my period starts again. is this pms?? just wondering...

2. tampons. yes, i'm asking about tampons again. only a different question. ok so i finally had "the talk" with my mom when i went to the store and got some Playtex Slimfits and Always ultra thin pads. so she cornered me and "talked" about it. once she finished her piece, she said, "how'd you even know how to get it in" she was talking about the tampons and i said, "i read the box..." but i started thinking about that and asked a couple of my friends. i didn't have any kind of prob with it!! it took me like, 5 minutes at the most but my friends who have used one said it took them like, 15 minutes the first time they put it in. am i totally weird then???? thats all i've been thinking about lately am i weird or something?

thanks so much!!!

Not everyone has PMS, and not everyone who has it experiences it in the same way. For years, I got sore breasts for a week before my period and a headache for a day before my period. I had no emotional symptoms at all. That was PMS, too.

I'm glad tampons were so easy for you. Not everyone is built the same, and not everyone understands instructions so easily. I've always had an easy time with tampons, and I started using them at 13, and switched from tampax to ob the moment they were available in my area (soon after I started menstruating) and never looked back.

I never got PMS until a couple of years ago. Even now, just the day before Aunt Flo shows up I am very emotional and irrational.

As for tampons -- the first time I used them, I was 11 or 12 and I didn't even read the box (but I may have read the box in the past), I just did it. So, I don't think it's weird. :)

2. you're not weird. my first time getting a tampon in (which was a Playtex Slimfit) went in really fast - prolly about 5 minutes as well. I didn't get it in all the way. But after I got it in, and took the box showed my mom and gave her a thumbs up.. hehe.

oh yeah..

1. sometimes i get PMS... I'm a real bitch too. Some people in my class would ask me "are you pmsing?" and i'd just say "yeah!"
and I get in more fights with my sister for about a week before my period.

PMS is different for everyone. Since my periods are so irregular, my PMS is horrendous. I bloat unbelievably, and I get these horrible cramps. I get really emotional, and all of that wonderful stuff. I pretty much have PMS the entire time from when I ovulate up until my period. And that can be a LONG time in my case.

I'm not a huge fan of tampons at all. They just don't work with how my body is built at all, my muscles and blood flow always push them out. The first time I used one it only took me a few minutes to put it in. Of course, it came out much quicker than I put it in, but that is besides the point. I don't think you're weird. It is different for everyone.

It took me two seconds to get my first one in. It was so easy. Thought it would be slightly hard, but people hype things up too much.

Took me longer to get my first one out than in, iirc. Non-applicators were (and are) a bit more fiddly. I am now reliving the whole new-to-bloodcatching-devices experience practicing getting a mooncup in and out.
