Okay i am new here. I have a "problem" and my friend recommeneded this community to me.

Recently my periods have gotten to be really heavy. I mean more then just regularly heavy. A pad cannot last me more than an hr now. My blood seems to clot a lot and it really hurts and is totally discusting. I cannot even sleep all night long with an overnight pad, i have to wake up after 4 hrs so that i can change pads. A lot of the time i find that my cloathing is soaking... it is really bad. It has happened for the past three cycles, and normally lasts about 2 days. What should i do? and is this bad? or normal?

It scares me and i feel like i am malfunctioning. I did not used to have this problem.

hmmm

immediate damage control, take in some extra calcium before and during your period. also, my gyno recommended a regimine of IBpreuofin (NOT ASPIRIN!!!) 2x a day for the 3 days before and first 2 days of your period, this will slow down the bleeding and ease some of your cramps.

ALSO...as soon as possible, call your gyno, at least explain what's going on to them. they'll probably want you to come in for an exam. you shouldn't be bleeding that much.

at the very least call a doctor, any doctor...it sounds like what you're experiencing is not healthy. :( let us know how things go.

Maybe you should tell your doctor. I'm really not sure, because my periods are normally like that. Except for me, it'd be like that the entire period about. But hey. That's why I now have birth control pills to get it under control. Darn Severe Menstrual Irregularity.

You should definitely see a doctor, because heavy periods like that could lead to anaemia, and also is just unpleasant for you. You can be given drugs which help stop the bleeding (I was given some once when I had some heavy breakthrough bleeding), or you can be put on the pill, which makes your periods lighter. Heavy periods can be a sign of endometriosis you want that checked out.
