hi all,
I just joined, but have been reading this community for gosh, years now. I have over and over again read about the Keeper and now the Divacup. For dumb reasons I am more attracted to the Divacup, but am still a bit wary to dive in and get one. I was thinking about trying out Instead and seeing how I felt about that and then stepping up to the plate and getting a Divacup if I liked it.
I was wondering if this seemed dumb, like are they similar at all? Could I judge from one how I would feel about the other??

any advice would rock.
thanks.
:o)

I started using the Keeper after Instead failed.

I don't think one is a good representative of the other, but if you're at all hesitant/unfamiliar with putting your fingers into yourself, Instead will quickly cure you of that. If that's not the case for you, I say go straight to your cup of choice.

Instead is so very different from the Keeper/divacup its not even funny. (At least they are to me. I can't even use the Instead cups.)
But both the Divacup and Keeper people offer a money back offer. (I think the Divacup is a year, the Keeper is 3 months.) So if you don't like it, you can send it back and get your money back.

in my opinion, Instead is somewhat easier to insert than the divacup, cause once it's folded, it's pretty narrow. for me, there was a greater learning curve for the divacup than instead. i couldn't feel instead inside me even the first time i tried it, but the divacup took some adjusting and getting used to. i think instead also has the potential to leak much, much worse than the divacup, due to its orientation--the divacup is worn so the opening faces up, while (i'm pretty sure) instead basically sits sideways (the "open" side facing the front of your body) while it's in. so, with instead, if there's a leak, when it rains, it pours.

instead is somewhat expensive, even for a small box, and the divacup offers a money-back guarantee, so if your end desire is to try a divacup, i'd go for that right away without trying instead.

btw--don't think being attracted to the divacup is dumb. personally, i think it's much better to have something you can sterilize by boiling or with alcohol. yes, i know, tampons aren't sterile either, but they don't get reused...
