I've got another BCP question. I started on Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo last Saturday (the first day of my period) and one week later, I still have my period. It's light and brownish, but I'm still like getting blood clots and stuff. Normally, when i wasn't on the pills, my period lasts 6 days, sometimes on the 7th day I would get a slight brown discharge now and then. Is it normal for the pills to make your period last longer? I suppose it's because I've just started on the pills and my body isn't used to it. Could it be that my last cycle lasted 40 days instead of the average of 33 days it usually is?

I used to be a 32 day cycle all the way up to a 45 day cycle. It took my body at least 2 months to stop doing that...It just takes time. Worst comes to worst ask your doctor. Since they don't make a 32 day cycle pill any more (curse them) we longer cycled woman have to fit the bill as it were. Our bodies eventually get used to it. After I got off the pill for a while my body naturally followed that cycle for good.
