i've done it and it hasnt worked but did succeed in giving me horrendous cramps... try parsley tea too (4-5 cups a night). didn't work for me either but i hear it usually works better than vitamin c. good luck! (i'm 3 weeks late...it sucks)
I took 1250 mg on a Friday evening and the next morning , Sat. I took 25 mg, then at noon I started to cramp. I drank a cold glass of water (cold gives me cramps) and it came down!
I've taken Vitamin C for a few months now. Not to speed up my period, but just to make me feel better. I was having colds, sore throat, sinus infections, earaches, etc. a lot and the Vitamin C has really boosted my immune system. That is it's main purpose and I don't think it has much to do with your period because it has never made mine come any sooner or later. It has always been on time. Depending on the amount of Vitamin C you take. you can very well get cramps just from taking so much. There is a daily intake value and it's not good to take large doses over a long period of time. Of course, it doesn't seem like you're doing that! However, depending on weight and age, you can take more or little.
So, what I'm trying to say is that I really don't have a clue as to the effect of Vitamin C on the period. I just know it's good for colds and to really boost your immune system! It's also really good to help wounds heal quicker! :0) So if you're ever sick, just remember this! :0)
