Aug. 14th, 2003 09:55 amCan anyone offer any advice please? I'm kind of unsure about what's going on with myself.
I've had friends of mine go through miscarriages and what they've described to me sounds pretty much what I'm going through now so I'm kind of scared. I thought I started my period yesterday, it was a day or so early but I didn't think anything of it. Then the super intense cramps start and I notice how different this period is. It's not the same color it usually is, it's a different consistany, it's muchheavier and I've always had really heavy periods anyway. Then I started thinking how I didn't have any of my regualr PMS symptons. No dreams (I always dream straight for a week before my period and then the night before I start I dont have one. It's the only time in the month that I dream), no bloating, no headaches, no hunger so bad I need to eat everything in my house etc.
Then the cramps for much worse. I've always had very bad cramps so that I was even on prescrition pain killers for a while and then put on Ortho tri-cyclen to regulate them which worked for the most part. After I started on BC I'd have an hour or so of cramps my first day and then everything was hunky dory except for the fact that I was bleeding. These cramps are so bad that my exact words to my boyfriend were "Oh god.. this is not human". Last night I ended up crouched up in a ball on the floor next to my bed on the phone with my boyfriend trying to get him to not freak out and assure him that I'm fine. See he lives 6 hours away from me and there's probably no way that if I was in trouble or something that he could come in to see me so I'm trying not to let on about what I'm thinking this could be because I don't want to worry him when he can't come see me.
So my question is, does this sound like maybe I'm having a miscarriage, and if so should I wait a while to see if things get better and then go to the doctor or should I go right away?

Date: 2003-08-14 05:30 am (UTC)i already knew i was pregnant though. it is possible to miscarriage before you know but i've always been told that it's just like having a regular period.
have you been taking your birth control properly?
you really should get it checked out though. a friend of mine has an ovarian cyct and her symptoms were alot like you. the very painful periods and all. have they ever checked you for that?

Date: 2003-08-14 05:37 am (UTC)Several of my friends have had miscarriages before they knew they were pregnent and they have always described it as like a period but heavier, different consistany, much more painful etc.
I unfortunatly haven't been taking my pill regualr lately and I didn't use a back up method when I went on vacation to visit my boyfriend so I'm fairly worried. I think I'm going to read up some more on miscarriages and then make a descion to go to the doctor and also read up on your idea about ovarian cysts.
Thank you.
