during sex, my partner and i usually use condoms with spermicide on them; although sometimes we do have sex with just actual spermicide. over the past weekend, we've done this quite a few times...after about 24 hours that i put the last shot of spermicide in, i feel like i constantly have to urinate...is this normal??

Could be a bladder infection; drink lots of water, and go to the doctor soon to get a urine test to check. They'll likely put you on antibiotics. Untreated bladder infections can lead to serious kidney infection, so it's not something you want to leave.

Always try to drink some water before sex so that you can go pee fairly soon afterwards; this will help prevent bladder infections.

Cranberry tablets can help with bladder infections as well; I'm told cranberry juice can, but trying to find one that is actual juice, rather than a bit of juice and a lot of sugar, is difficult.

In our campus newspaper the other day theyr eported studies being done on nynoxynol-9(sp?) that connects it to urinary tract ifnections in women - i've been thinking about that for months as a possibility ands the article in the paper just proves my thoughts weren't all that far fetched...

I was kinda surprised though because the article also said it heightens the chances of getting HIV and such...
