is that really supposed to help? I drink herbal tea a lot, and it hasn't made much of a difference lately. But I tend to drink more peppermint (have it at work) than chamomile (have that at home).
Chamomile tea has worked for me where tylenol, aspirin, ibuprofen and codeine have not. It is an anti-spasmodic, so rather than just numbing the pain, it calms the actual muscle spasms that cause the cramps.
Of course if your menstrual pain is caused by something other than muscle spasm then it won't be much good, but at least it is warm and comforting. I find it helps my mood a little as well, but that might just be because it helps so much with the pain.
if you can, exercise for 45 minutes (brisk walking, biking, rollerblade, etc) then take a hot bath. the bloodflow to your muscles will increase, and the hot bath afterwards will relax all the tension.
