Hi all. I've been skipping periods on birth control since June, and I've decided to stop skipping for various reasons. My first period for about three months should be next week, and I'm not quite sure what to expect. Will the symptoms and flow be exceptionally worse than usual? Does anyone have experience with this? Also, I'm gonna be using Instead cups for the first time, and since I live in a dorm, I don't have a private bathroom to practice getting used to inserting and removing them. I'm really nervous about that. I think I might practice before my period actually starts. Does anyone have any advice or words of wisdom? Anything would be greatly appreciated! Thanks :o)

It really varies. I've never noticed any difference with my periods after I skipped, I've heard women say both they get heavier and lighter periods after skipping, so really, it's hard to say. I wouldn't be too worried about it, though.
