Hello. There's plenty of information in the memories section about how to induce your period, but I've the opposite problem: I need it to stop. Now.

I recently switched from a generic brand of Ortho-Cyclen to Ortho-Evra (the patch). I suppose that I am due to start today, but I opted to skip my period this month because, well, let's just say that this coming weekend is going to be, ah, "romantic". Mhm. Yep. Bawmp-chikka-wah-wah. I replaced my patch as scheduled, but I've still started bleeding. Okay, just the teensiest-tiniest bit, but it's still blood. And blood is bad right now.

Any, I don't know, advice? Am I just screwed? Thanks in advance.

It's not necessarily a period, but spotting. Many women spot when they try to skip a period on the pill/patch, especially the first few times. Nothing you can really do to stop it, but it most likely won't be heavy, and should stop soon. If not, grab an Instead cup, or throw a towel under you, and have fun anyway. :)

Yeah - can I have intercourse using the instead cup? I've wondered about it, but been afarid to try it. Thanks.

Theoretically you can, but some women find it uncomfortable.

Try a sea sponge; I find I can be as "romantic" as I like using them! (My BF can't even tell it's in there...)

A drugstore would probably be better, just get one of those wee little ones meant for applying makeup, paint and bath ones would be too big and coarse. Oh, and boil it and trim it down as you like it, mine are little (about an inch across when dry, bigger when wet) but still very effective.

sage tea!! sage dries up your bodily fluids - phlegm, breast milk, sweat, and menstrual blood. drink it and your peroid should stop!

Happened to me a bit when i switched to orth-evra. The spotting stopped after the first 24 hours though...
