if you use nylon when sewing your own cloth pads, does the nylon go on the inside (for the insert) or on the outside, as liner?

I would put it on the inside BOttom. Like, I'm guessing the thing has an outside made of a top piece and a bottom piece sewn together and then something to fold and stick inside, right? Well, I would put it on the bottom inside of the main pad, so that stuff can go through until whatever is closest to your undies.

I've never sewn pads, but I use cloth pads I've purchased. One has a nylon layer. It's got the shell with insert liner style, and the nylon is never exposed so that you'll never end up with nylon accidentally against your skin. It's got a layer of flannel with a layer of nylon sewed on top. Then it's got the layer of flannel on top with the "opening" to insert the liner. The liner goes on top of the nylon.

If I were making my own pads, I'd do them differently. If it was going to have separate liners, I'd have a bottom piece. It would be a piece of nylon inside of a soft comfie flannel bottom. There would be two elastic straps on top of the "bottom" so that liners could be put on top of the piece that is snapped to the undies.

Does that make sense?
