Hey girls--

So, I'm concerned about my ovaries. The period that I had last month, and the one that just started today were accompanied by *very* intense pain where I imagine one would find their ovaries.
I've always been under the impression that one month the left ovary will handle the job and the next month the right ovary will pop one out. However, both times I've had this fairly intense pain on the same side.
How would I be able to tell if it was a cyst? I mean, I know an ultrasound is the ultimate answer. But, what could I use as a barometer to tell me if I should get one done?

Alison.

I have had ovarian cyst is the past. I have also had on rupture. It is not fun. The way that i found out was I had started haveing back pain down towards my kidneys so i went to the doctor and they ended up doing an ultrasound. That is about the only way to tell. I wold suggest going to OBGYN and getting check up if you think you might have one. To have it rupture is very very painful and if there is something they can do for it that would be good.

i thought i had appendicitis, so they did a CAT scan and said "nope, you just have cysts". so...that's about an appropriate gague on the pain/symptoms scale. i hope you don't have one, they're no fun. :/
