Date: 2003-10-20 09:01 am (UTC)With Instead, it was pretty easy to get in, I thought (after having a decent amount of experience with tampons). But because it's smaller and is farther back, you have to reach in and pull it out, which can get messy, especially if you don't keep it upright. I didn't continue using them, though, because they were expensive.
I recently started using the Diva Cup (http://www.divacup.com), and had a lot of troubles with it at first. It's kind of hard to get inside... you have to fold it over, use too fingers to keep it that way, and put it all the way inside without it unfolding. Then you have to twist it around so that it unfolds already in place. I don't think I was using it correctly at first, because it was pretty uncomfortable and I could feel it if I was kegeling. After I got some advice from a friend using it, I gave it another try and made an effort to "really shove it up there," as she put it, lol. And now I'm really really enjoying it, I often forget I'm wearing it. Every once in a while I'll move in some way and sense it, but that's all.

Date: 2003-10-20 01:12 pm (UTC)I had a little trouble with it at first, I'd get blood all over my hands or spill it while removing it, but now I have the hang of it and it's all good. It's more comfortable than tampons (for me, anyways).
The trick to making sure it doesn't leak is to make sure that you push it up really far. And when you're taking it out, to hold it so it doesn't tilt or tip over. It's kinda hard to explain, and I think it varies from person to person.
