Okay so refer to my last post if you didnt read it.

but long story short - had been getting my period every 11 days since july, and they were getting heavier and heavier and more and more painful and so the doctor put me on birthcontrol even tho it was against my will. i've been on the pill and the 11 day periods have still continued.

Only this time- last thursday, i started my period, was really heavy with terrible cramps for two days. and then on the weekend, saturday i didnt bleed at all during the day, but at night I did. All day and night sunday I didnt bleed. All day today I didnt bleed, but tonight I am.

What the fuck is going on with my body? is this normal?

I feel like I'm getting thrown in this huge whirlwind and its all being controlled by my menstruation.

Help ?

ech! why take birth control against your will? it sounds like you should find another doctor. that's a really shitty thing to do. any good doctor should listen to what you want & act accordingly.

i'm not sure what else is going on with your body, though, i just wanted to offer the information that it doesn't have to be like that for you!

oh. i see. have you ever thought about Natural Family Planning? i imagine you're so pro-life for religious reasons. Natural Family Planning is like the very reliable Fertility Awareness, only with religious undertones, so you don't use a barrier method during your fertile time, you just abstain.

I think the only reason that they're recommending birth control for her is because of her problems with her cycle...I think it has nothing to do with her using it as actual contraceptive...

If you're actually *against* taking birth control pills for a medical reason (I won't even argue that here, you're allowed to be *grin* and I'd go all apoplectic arguing) then they can't make you take it, you know. You can always say "I'll deal with this on my own without taking it until I find another doctor who will listen to me."

On the flip side, though, if you *are* willing to take it for medical reasons, I'd say just hang in there; it usually takes the body about three months to adjust to its side effects, so I'd think it would take about that long for your body to totally get "in the swing of things" and let it even out your cycle. It doesn't work immediately.

Good luck! It doesn't sound like your body's really treating you nicely at all right now... that's always a bummer.

I also don't want to take birth control (I don't hate girls that use it; it's fine with me if other people want to, it's just my personal beliefs)...and there have been a few times in my life when it's been suggested to me for medical reasons. I stuck it out and have never taken birth control after all.

But my menstrual problems weren't nearly as harsh as yours seem to be...I'm sure that make the decision harder.

My reasons are based on my religion+spirituality. However, I know that the reason I don't take it is because I don't want to be using it as a birth control for preventing pregnancy. I know for a fact that medical cases calling for birth control are fine and aren't against what I believe, as long as the girl isn't using it for preventing conception. So even if I'd decided to use it, it would've been alright.

I don't know what your reason is. But whatever you decide to do, I hope everything ends up working out. The most important thing is that you get better. Sounds like it's pretty rough right now...hang in there. *hug*

Ok so yeah, I do know your reasons now...I see catholicism all over your interests/communities. I'm one too. :) It's not always easy to keep the beliefs we do on abortion/contraception...just cause the vast majority of people disagree. I understand where you're coming from.

BTW, sorry for posting a ton of comments on this post ^_^
