Of course. My period had to start today. Today! Tomorrow's Revolutions' opening! If I'm crampy or zonked on painkillers I am not going to be a happy little fan.

Does anyone.. ANYONE... know of a relatively easily-found remedy for near-dehibilitating menstrual cramps that isn't Ibuprofen or Tylenol? Please please please please! Tomorrow must be perfect!

Good medicines for cramps are ones that are made specifically for such a thing - all those women medicines for PMS, cramps and such. They work so well, but most of them will make you severely drowsy and/or act like a severe sleeping pill - which is why I try to stay away from them.

Hope you feel better! :)

[livejournal.com profile] bloodmoonherbs is a good place to ask about herbal cramp remedies.

Naproxen sodium -- what's in Aleve -- is what my doc prescribed for me before it was available over the counter. I've never had any side effects from it, either.

a bit late, but any other matrix fangirl named kat is my new best friend.

anyways, i think midol has a nondrowsy forumula that i LOVE. however.... it does nothing for my cramps. it does fix the bloating though.... but yeah, i need it for the cramps the most, so i take pamprin. i dont get sleepy from it but some people do. *shrugs*
