ok, i need some serious advice.

i've been on OTC for about 3 years. maybe 4 or 5 months ago, i switched to OTC-Lo. last month, after i finished the first few packs, my period came maybe half a day early. this was really unusual, because ever since i started taking birth control, my period had come at the *same time* on the *same day* every month. in addition to a slightly early period i had such severe diarrhea for 24 hours that i went to my doctor (who said it was probably just something i ate).

this month, my period is 6 days early - it came today. i'm not even on the green pills yet! there isn't very much blood, and it's coming out strange - 1/2 of it is dark brown, and 1/2 of it is normal red. i haven't had diarrhea yet, but my stomach is cramping the way it was when i had it last month and i've been feeling sick, so i have a feeling it might start soon.

does anyone have any idea what the hell might be going on? i took a pregnancy test today just to be sure, and it was negative, so i know that's not the problem. could it be an ovarian cyst? could my period just mysteriously be becoming irregular?

i did call my gyno and make an appointment, but since i'm really nervous, i'm looking for ideas here. can anyone help?

hi there:
i can't say i know why it would change, but the stuff you are worried about is stuff that happens to me every month, so i wouldn't freak out about it too much. i've always had a wacked period though. can't hurt to check with your gyno. did you miss a pill by any chance, and by miss i mean even taking it late? on the lower dose pills it always really seemed to mess with me even to miss one.
