Oh man. I just have to start off by saying how much I love this community. I love it. A lot. The end.

I haven't had my period in a little over three months. I just started birth control (yasmin 28- anyone else know about it?) a few weeks ago. The thing is...this birth control is not perscription. I got it from my friend whose mother is a gyno and gets it for free. Bad idea. I know this. But I couldn't get it any other way and I was desperate. (By the way, I did a lot of research before I started taking itto be informed on side effects, etc. It's pretty good.)

Should I expect this period (starting the placebo pills on thursday) to be different than natural periods? Should I expect anything weird because I haven't had one for so long?

how's the Yasmin?

I'm in *exactly* the same boat. I hadn't had a period for 4 months, and I just got it. So far my cycle has been HEAVY - which I guess is what I expected after not having it for so long. My GYN just prescribed Yasmin for me, too, and I'm supposed to start taking it right after my cycle. So,I'm wondering: how's the Yasmin going for you? I'm a little nervous about switching, but I didn't like the side effects of my other Pill, so my doctor thinks Yasmin would be a good one to try. I looked at the website, and the only side effect I'm worried about is the anti-androgenic properties. I'm worried my sex drive will decrease.

And don't beat yourself up about accepting samples from a GYN. Taking samples from a friend who happens to be a doctor isn't as good as going to the doctor yourself. You know that. But samples are lifesavers for the underinsured. You do what you gotta do.

Hey.

This was my first time on birth control, so I did notice that it made me feel different. Not really bad, I guess. Just. Different. But I've heard that a lot about BC in general.

I haven't had any side effects that I can tell except breast growth, which also shouldn't really be a problem for you.

So it's generally been treating me (and my friend, who gave it to me) pretty well. I hope you enjoy it!
