A quick question for all of you...
The past few days, I've been noticing bright red blood when I go to the bathroom. (Just on the TP, not quite sure where its coming from.) And not a whole lot. It doesn't go into the bowl (the water is just yellow, and not tinged pink) and if I wipe again, there's no more. Just like... maybe half dollar sized patches on the TP?
I had a regular period last month, am on the Pill, and am not due to start my next period for a week. I'm not sexually active, it doesn't hurt when I pee. I can't think of anything abnormal that might cause this.
Its not every time I go to the bathroom, maybe twice a day, and its *bright red.* Not like period blood, but like... "gah i cut my finger with a knife" blood. (eek.)
Any thoughts?

It could just be break through bleeding. Menstrual fluids can come in a large variety of colors. Anywhere from dark brown to pink. How long have you been on the pill? If it's a new thing it could just be your body adjusting. If it's been a while that you've been on it, it could just be a fluke thing your body is doing this month.

Must be a fluke then, 'cause I've been on the Pill for like, 3 years or something ridiculous like that ;)
I was just wondering because nothing has ever come from my vagina that has been *quite* that color.

FWIW, this past month I had a similar experience about 3 days before I started my period.. And I'm NOT on the pill.. Maybe just a early warning or something. ;)

Hmmm ... it could be a pimple somewhere around your vulva. I have something like that in, um, another area. I can't see back there to find where the blood's coming from, but it's never very much blood (about the size of a pencil eraser) and it doesn't seem to be oozing pus or anything. But in your case ... a half-dollar-sized patch of blood is pretty large.

Next time you notice blood, take a good look at your vulva. (A mirror will help.) Try to figure out which area the blood's coming from, even if you can't find the exact spot. (Labia? Perenium? Vestibule? that kind of thing) I recommend being familiar with your girly bits anyway, but in this case you definitely should take a good look.

but if it's only been happening for a few days, I wouldn't get worried. Just keep an eye on it.

Are you sure it's coming from your vagina? It's possible that it's blood from a burst hemmorroid (gross I know) that you did not know you have.

Well, see, that's the trouble, but its there when I wipe the front, and nothing when I wipe in the back.
Gross schmoss. If the nastiest thing we talk about in this forum is a hemmorroid, I'll consider myself lucky!
