i'm probably not posting this in the right place, but if anyone has an asnwer that'd be great. i wanted to know if there are any forms of birth control other than condoms that won't make you gain weight. if there are any birth control pills that won't make you gain weight that'd be great.

Birth control pills might make you gain weight, and even if one does, another formulation might not. In any case, the general sense I have is that any hormonal form of birth control can potentially make you gain weight, but they are also the most effective at preventing pregnancy. After hormonal forms, I think the male condom is the most effective, and then the various female controlled barrier methods like diaphragms.

it is not sure that birth control will make you gain weight....it only happens in some people...

Not all birth control pills make you gain weight, it just depends on how your body reacts to them...Also, the majority of the time, if you do gain weight, it's because 1) you tend to eat a lot more since they can increase your appetite, or 2) it's water weight...

Yasmin is supposed to be really good at keeping you from gaining water weight, and I've heard a few people say they've actually lost weight on it...You may want to talk to a doctor about getting on it to see if that works for you...Finding the right Birth Control pill is generally a trial and error process though...What's good for one person may not be good for another.

yasmin is one of the newer birth control pills on the market and is known in europe as "the weight loss bc"

i took it and didn't gain anything that did'nt go away within the first month, and really all the weight i gained was in my breasts from them swelling a bit... butl ike i said they went right back to normal, it wasn't a huge deal.

Pills may or may not make you gain weight.
Spermicide won't make you gain weight.
Sponges (which contain spermicide) wno't make you gain weight.
Diaphrams (which also use spermicide) won't make you gain weight.
IUDs won't make you gain weight. I love my IUD :-)
