new here... but, well, uhm...I'm actually 35 weeks pregnant at the moment, so I'm not experiencing all the fun and joy right now ... but, in 5 weeks or less, I will be making up for the last nine months of freedom, so I thought I might as well drop by....
I think it's awesome there is a community for this....

welcome!

Someone told me that as long as you're breast feeding you don't get your period... anyone know if this is true?

Trying to answer my own question:

Link 2 (http://www.fourfriends.com/abrw/menstrua.htm)

Apparently it varies from mother to mother. Some sources suggest that only regular, frequent breastfeeding (every 3-4 hours as for very young babies) is likely to stop menstration.

Interesting. Come back to let us know what your experience was!

This is not necesarily true. It depends on the woman. I didn't have periods for over a year while nursing, biut I was also on the depo shot. After being off Depo, I still nursed...I started having periods again a few months afterbing off depo but still nursing. Son is still nursing, and I still have periods (just got off one today actually) So anyway, it varies.

I always say Congrats to the pregnant ladies I see around. so CONGRATULATIONS. I'm a mama myself, I have a 2I always say Congrats to the pregnant ladies I see around. so CONGRATULATIONS. I'm a mama myself, I have a 2½ (almost 3, sniff) yr old little boy. To stay on topic, I'll say that I didn't have periods after my son was born, but that was mostly due to being on Depo. I did breastfeed (in facthe's still nursing). I did get that lovely post partum lochia though....anyways, welcome to the hut :) I'm Tara btw.
