Ahh, the things we women are grateful for, eh?

A query: how do you all handle periods and sleeping? I hate wearing those enormous diaper pads, fear of TSS rules out the overnight tampon, and sleeping on a towel just feels funny...

I use a thin pad, which feels nothing like a diaper. I barely notice it. If I don't plan on sleeping for more than six hours or so, and it's later in my flow, I just wear my sponges.

I use a keeper, except on my two heaviest nights, when I use tampons. While a lot of women don't like the shape of Tampax, my mom said that back in the day when people first became aware of TSS and it was in all the papers, she read that none of the incidents of TSS were associated with Tampax. But if you're still leery, how about cotton tampons? That should lower the risk even further. TSS is associated with rayon in tampons, I think.

yeah the whole tampon thing-- thats if you wear them for more than 8 hours. says right on the packaging that its okay if you put it in right before bed, and right when you wake up 8 hours later. if you feel bad about it, change it midway through the night.

I just wear pads. They don't bother me when I sleep. Plus my period is rarely ever that bad at night. I don't know, I hope I'm not the only one who seems to have disappearing periods overnight or something. Seriously, more often then not I don't bleed at night. Usually only the first two nights of my period. And I sleep on a towel, just in case. Haha, it does feel weird. Eh, I don't know. I'm just babbling.

i either wear a tampon or a thin pad because usually i dont "overflow" during the night - its when i get up that i have to worry...
