Who'da thunk it....
Aug. 1st, 2001 09:12 pmIt came. It actually came! A week earlier than I was expecting, but it's good nonetheless. Now, I can start the almighty Pill on Sunday. >:D!!! Josh will surely be ecstatic.
The cramps are kinda bad, and I'm alittle bloated, which always pisses me off, but hopefully they won't be so bad once I start the pill. I shall endure.
Oh, I almost forgot. Once I start the pill, is it effective immediatly (which I've heard) or is it effective like, 2 weeks after? (which I've also heard)

Date: 2001-08-01 07:26 pm (UTC)the doctor has told me, repeatedly, to use back-up for the FIRST FULL MONTH after I start -- otherwise, I'm risking it!

If you're a Sunday starter, you need to use a backup birth control method for the first week (until the next Sunday). If you're a Day 1 starter, you're protected within 24 hours.
I'm assuming the reason for the difference, is that you're starting the pill at somewhat different points in your cycle.
Admittedly, I personally would go with the advice above -- stick with something else for the first month, just to be safe -- but I'm pretty paranoid. Wanted to give you the info from the instructions, though. :)
If you aren't on ortho tri-cyclen, then ignore all of the above. ;)
