So I know a few ladies that have joined the site and I decided to poke around and join myself. I'm a patch user to regulate my rediculously long heavy periods. And even still I have to take 600 mg of ibuprofen every four hours for cramps *sigh*. But lately I've been getting a discharge in between periods that's like clear mucus but has darkish brown strands through it. I used to get it at the very end of my period, but it hasn't stopped since my last period and I'm set to get my next one sometime this upcoming week. Has this happened to anyone else? I don't know whether to be worried or just chalk it up to jobsearching stress. Any advice??

Stress can cause changes in your cycle, so if it was me, that would be my first assumption. However, you may just want to check with your doctor to be safe. You should probably let them know how much meds you’re taking for cramps. I was taking a lot of meds to keep myself uot of bed during cramps, and I called my doctor last month because they were worse than normal. She said that I really need to come in and see her because I’m over medicating (she also gave me a prescription to take immediately until I got my appointment!) and that’s a really bad idea. Cramps that are that bad can be part of a larger problem. (Of course, this is assuming you haven’t already checked with your doctor… If you’ve already spoken with your doctor, please ignore me...)

Definitely check with your pcp.

However, it may just be your uterus "cleaning" itself out in between periods.

Not to worry but do have it checked out to be on the safe side. :)

Take care and welcome,
Abby
