this is going to sound really dumb... but.. i am usually extremely regular in my cycle. i get it around the 13th, give or take a day or two. well. the last time i had my period was in october.

the thing is... im a virgin, ive never had sex so there's obviously no chance of pregnancy.

this happened once before, and i know a lot of women's cycles will change and skip a month and what not. but when it happened before it only skipped a month.

so my question is, should i worry, and should i go see my gyno (who i called in dec about this, and she said that i should wait it out, and it's probably nothing).

im just getting kinda scared ya know?

thanks for any help you guys can give me.

I was way over 20 before I started getting my period regularly - 3 months or more between periods was not uncommon for me. So it doesn't sound like anything serious to me (but I'm not a doctor). Do consult your GYN again though, if you are worried.

I seem to recall some posts here about parsley tea being useful for inducing your period. Anybody with a better memory than me?

usually the first year or so of your period, your period tends to be normal for awhile, or off for awhile. it's weird. also a loss of weight, or a bit of weight gain can also throw it off. if you are an athlete, that can also make your flow stop. i would schedule an appointment with your gyno, or maybe try asking your mother or an older female.

It probably is nothing, but if your period is usually fairly regular, I would say at this point it's worth going to your gyn to be checked out, just in case. Regular cycles that suddenly go wonky usually set of an alarm for me (but my alarm may be oversensitive).

As long as you’re not in pain and you have about 3 or 4 periods per year, there shouldn’t be a problem. But since it’s been six months since you’ve bled, you should probably call your doctor just to make sure everything’s ok (it’ll also alleviate your worries to have a doctor tell you things are fine!)

i've heard that if you become anemic, you might stop having your period...
