I have something weird I'm a little concerned about...

I'm on BC (Alesse) and I've been taking it correctly. Everything's been fine except my last two periods have been ridiculously short. Last time it was super heavy for two days, then barely anything on the third day. This time it was really heavy on the first day, then barely anything yesterday and today. I'm talking not even having to use a tampon or anything, just a little blood when I go to the bathroom.

This is unusual for me because I usually have a standard 5-6 day flow, needing a tampon every day. I've been on BC for a year and a half, and switched to Alesse at the beginning of November... I thought maybe someone here would know why my periods are being so funky... maybe someone else had an experience like this??

Any help would be great!!! I just want to know if there's something wrong and I should get it checked out...

Nah mine did the same thing when I started taking BC. Its just the hormones. Nothing to worry about.

Ditto. I took Estrostep for 4yrs, then switched over to something else for a month .. which sent my period awry .. now I'm back to Estrostep and I'm on day-3 of my period and its almost over (whereas mine last 4-5 days at least). Its normal .. as the previous poster said, each BC has different levels of hormones and your body has to adjust to it - which takes a couple of months. Don't worry! :)

I was on Alesse, first BC pill I ever took. It blows. My period never got regulated when I was on that pill. Ortho Tricyclen is awesome. Helps the skin, too. Alesse doesn't. Not in my case, anyway.

i was on alesse...it's supposed to have the lowest dosage of hormones in a pill. my periods were never regular and often strange colors (chocolate brown or magenta), which was supposed to be "normal". and like you said, they were virtually non-exsistent.

that said, i got pregnant while i was on alesse. this has a lot to do with an underlying bowel condition, but just be careful.
