Hey. I'm new. Annd full of questions, of course. So here's my story:

This has been the weirdest cycle I've ever had. Normally I'm really really regular but this month everything's going crazy. I had really bad pms symptoms (such as really painful breasts...like worse than usual) and then I had cramps (along with horrible lower back pain) before my period had even started. Then it finally started and it was really really light, and took two days before any real bleeding occurred. Now it's still really light but the cramps are worse than ever. Anyone have any idea if this is a cause for worry, or are things just goin a little crazy. I was really stressed over all this for a few weeks cause I was scared it might be like a pregnancy thing (since it took forever to come) so maybe that has something to do with it. Meh..any thoughts?

  • Are you on the pill? Have you switched brands lately? Could be your body adjusting to that change.
  • Did you have unprotected sex around the time you were ovulating? And are you thin? The reason I ask those two is because I'm really skinny, and I had a positive pregnancy test (blood test) but then got my period - which I guess was a miscarriage. Anyhoo, I didn't have any serious amounts of bleeding but I cramped a lot for a day or so.
    • What I would do is to go ahead and get a pee test and just check, coz if you have the pregnancy hormone in your body (and this is just abnormal bleeding) then the HCG (pregnancy hormone) should show up.
    • Or, wait for 4-5 days, when the bleeding stops, and get a pee test. That way, you've given the body enough time to get rid of the HCG (if what you're having is a miscarriage of sorts)

From the sounds of it, with your period getting stronger I don't think you should worry. Plus, I don't believe anal sex gets your pregnant - the semen has to be inside your vagina/uterus for anything to happen. Just make sure you're getting enough iron in your diet and you're good to go! :)

Quick thing that i only just recently learned - anal sex with a condom is a good idea for the guy's health. I'm not talking about STDs (I assume you know what to do about those!), but because there's bacteria that could get into his urethra opening and cause infection. He may want to know that so that he can make a choice in the future as to whether or not to use condoms.

If you didn't have unprotected sex, I'd probably assume that this month things were just different. Sometimes things come out differently.
