scented pads

my cousin is visiting from taiwan and she's on her period now so her pads r allover the bathroom and what not (they're not really allover, they're just sitting nicely on the counter). and you know how the scented pads in america smell kinda like baby powder? well the ones from taiwan smell like mothballs...and it's interesting. i was just wondering if anyone else from other countries in this community have other scented pads?

Yuck. I can't even imagine how irritating having scent that close to your genitals must be. Isn't simple cleaning and hygeine enough for people anymore? ;)

well if someone had really nasty smelling secretions, i guess it might be acceptable to cover it up with something baby powdery fresh....

but mothballs for them taiwanese women? ewwie, hehe.

They do make scented pads. I tried them at some point or another (over 10 years ago!), they're supposed to "disguise" that monthly smell. They also have scented tampons to disguise a woman's smell (personally, I found that using the scented pads made my period smell strong in a really bad way! Note that the tampons have "delicate deodorant protection - Only Playtex® Deodorant tampons have a soft feminine scent for an extra fresh, confident feeling!"

Yep, the ones from India (from 5-6 years ago - when I lived there) smelled like moth balls too. I think they've got the new American-style-smelling ones now :)

When I was in Malaysia five years ago visiting family, I got my period and actually mailed a pad to a friend back home, lmao. They weren't scented, but they were WEIRD, with strange pink geometric designs on the wrapper and they were small and petite.

There should be a sociological study on how feminine hygiene products reflect something about the culture they're from... lol :D
