yay! i just joined!

and i have a few questions right off the bat...

1) i get these...weird...gross chunks with my period. they look like egg sacks or something simarly disgusting. they're smooth and look squishy i guess. is this normal or am i dying?

2) how long is a "normal" period? i though i had heard that up to a week was normal, but i recently heard 3-4 days. =/// mine is usually 6-8 days.

3) about halfway through my period, it virtually stops - for a day or so. is this normal?

4) orgasms during your period: good, bad, neutral? whenever i had an orgasm while on my period, it always got ungodly heavy. =(

4. Orgasms are good! Your period gets heavier because your cervix muscles contract and that helps the blood flow. They can also relieve cramps, I've heard.

1 and 3: normal :) (chunks, including smooth/squishy, definitely normal, though I'm not sure I understand the egg sack description.)

1) the wierd chunks are just chunks of uterine lining being shed. Perfectly normal, look like black because they're so dark red. Happens every time.

2) mine lasts 7 days, and I have friends who barely last three. I've heard 8 days is the 'normal' max, but it varies person to person.

3) happens to me too. Yes, this is normal.

4) couldn't tell you, still a virgin ;-)

the "weird chunks" are called endometrium. it's where the fertilized egg lands and develops into a baby. in other words, it was your first home. =)
