hi,

i'm camden & i just joined. im sixteen & sexually active but always use protection. even before i was sexually active i had a history of having rather irregular periods. im now six days late & starting to worry. before i never had anything to worry about because i wasn't having sex. i still got cramps,head/back aches & normal pms this month,but no period. should i take a pregnancy test just to ease my conscience or just stop worrying because that's probably making it worse?

worrying probably does only make it worse, but if you go a week after your period should start, it is a good idea to get a test. You probably can get a free test at a Planned Parenthood or women's clinic. Don't go to a birthright or crisis pregnancy center, though, because they will probably be scary and give you misinformation. you want to deal with someone who will be honest with you and give you real information about all of your options.

Maybe you could consider bc pills. They would help with your irregular periods and ease your conscience. I'm like you and I worry too. It will only stress you out. Good luck.
