Nipple discharge

I'm "in the hut" at the moment, and discovered this morning that I can express a pale discharge from both nipples. I have never noticed this happen before...

I have recently started taking antidepressants (SSRIs) - is there a connection between the two?

i get discharge around that time too. i used to have my nipples pierced and can't remember if i had any discharge before that, but it definitely comes from the top of the nipple, not the holes from the piercings.

i'm not taking any medication besides birth control. i'll have to ask my gyno about that next time i'm in there. i've had it for a while with no other noticable side effects. it's in both nipples, so i'm guessing it's normal enough.

Yeah, that was my reasoning - if it's on both sides, it must be something systemic. Just wanted to see if anyone might know more on it.

I had the same thing happen to me (on meds too)- and I went to the doctor for it, and he drew blood and the tests came back as having a high prolactin level. It's not a bad thing really, but you might want to get it checked out, if that is the case they'll give you some meds and it'll stop.

I might check it anyway - I have actually noticed some puckering of my breasts lately. It could just be period-related - I haven't been very good about self-exams, but I think I'd be happier after getting it checked out.
