Joining you again for another five to seven day stretch...

I decided that this would be the month that I gave the Keeper a try. Any tips?

Don't be scared to trim the stem as much as needed. They say you need it to help turn and position, but unless you're scared to touch yourself, positioning is EASIER without trying to use the damn stem. It can be really irritating, especially for those of us with tilted body parts.

Wear a panty liner the first day or two, till you know you've got the hang of positioning. Just in case. You shouldn't need them at all after that.

Definitely wet the rim. Having a sink or bathtub closeby is great, easy rinsing, and the slick rubber is easier to insert.

Think like you're inserting a tampon. Fold the Keeper into sections like the instructions say, then prop a foot on the rim of the tub or toilet. Gives you more room to position and a more "open" reception for it.

Too Much Information Alert: If you've had children, until you're certain how your Keeper fits ... you might want to remove it beforehand if you need to do anythig other than urinate. Just In Case.

Most Importantly: Don't forget you're wearing it. Once you have the stem trimmed, if you don't cramp badly, you can almost forget it's in. The standard smell is really negligible with it in, unless you have a seriously sensitive nose.

And the Keeper is so trouble-free -- no trash or debris, no lingering smell in the trash can, no need to empty the trash can daily -- that unless I tell my husband, he doesn't even know I have my period.
