i'm sorry if this question has been repeated...
do you shower/bath when you are menstruating? what about swimming (if you swim)? i only shower when i have my periods, usually on alternative days because on ordinary days, i try to have one daily. the flow is disrupted but....it's nice keeping clean :) i try to avoid swimming/baths.

Date: 2004-05-07 06:56 am (UTC)When I started bleeding, I was told that it's ok to swim, and that it's an old tall tale that you can't swim when you're bleeding (and that's true). What I originally did was take off a pad, wrap a towel around my waist (and be glad that I had a dark colored bathing suit), and then go swimming. As soon as I got out, I'd put a pad on. I found that I didn't have any problems because I wouldn't bleed as much.
Later I started using tampons. Now I use a DivaCup so I can swim or go to the hot springs without any worries at all because there's no effect on the DivaCup if you go in water.

Date: 2004-05-07 01:38 pm (UTC)I usually have a bath every other day, but i try to have them daily during heavier flow days.
I often swim in the sea in the summer, and i do that regardless of whether i have my time - unless my tummy is achy, and then the colder water can be a bit too much of a shock.
Why do you avoid swimming or bathing when you are on?
I have a mooncup and it is very useful.
