Please help me! =-(

This is my first time posting and I am worried that I have somethign wrong with me. I am on Ortho Tricyclen(sp?) now and have been for over a year. So far I have had no troble with the pills. This month however something happened that has never before. About a week ago I felt as if I was starting my period only it was about a week early. When I went to the bathroom, I did not find blood, however, I found what appeared to be very very very old blood. It looks for lack of a better word like feces. It was dark brown and horrible old blood smell and very thick. This discharge has now been coming out for a week and its almost as heavy as a light period would be. It has stained all of my underware and is very uncomfortable. I am sexually active but I have not had intercourse or any other kind of sexual contact with anyone except myself since late October. I do masturbate regularly and I am not sure if that would cause this or not. I am scared to go to the doctor but I dont know what I should do. I started my period today with normal period blood if you will.

Can someone please help me out on this. Sound I go to the doctor is this normal?

I get that sometimes too. Not too much - but right now I'm getting it - but I was messing with my period by trying to skip it.

Thank you, I am just scared that I have an STD or something I know its stupid but im paranoid!!!

Well....I haven't had sex since November (unless my *cough*friend*cough* counts) so, I know its not that! :D

that's actually happening to me too, as i type this... i'm also on OTC. it's been happening almost every month lately, unfortunately, so i'm going to ask my doc if i can switch to ortho cyclen instead and see if that helps. my spotting, however, is usually during the end of the first week of active pills, and lasts for about a week :\

if you've been on it for over a year, maybe you should see about switching brands; that might take care of the spotting. things like this are usually trial and error. good luck!
