Here's an unusual question...

Does anyone out there have any experience using their menstrual blood in art projects? I want to either paint with it or mix it into plaster before I work a fresco over it.

If anyone has any tips, I'd love to hear them. Especially if you had any problems with the blood maintaining over time.

I don't know if you wanted a red look to the blood but I imagine it would turn brown once dried.

definately would turn brown. I suppose it depends on how much you're using and for what purpose, if you're using it for color it will definately go brown but if the point is just to have it involved in the materials you could probably mix small amounts into other materials wihtout the color change being very noticable.

side note: I love your icon.

ot a member here, but just popped in & thought you might be interested in [livejournal.com profile] blood_art, which is specifically for those who paint with their own menstrual blood. Acrylic thinning medium can be used to dilute & preserve fresh blood, apparently, although I'd be tempted to freeze it & try to use a little at a time.

I own a painting that involves blood, & it appears as a deep red-brown. It has not deteriorated in the year I have had it so far.

EDIT: Oops! I see you just showed up in that community! Hope you find your answers there :)
