Again repeating one of my questions from a previous post because it got no responses.

Exactly what is spotting?

I've heard it mentioned a number of times, but I have no clue what it actually is.

Spotting is blood from your uterus. In between periods you can have little "spots" of blood, anywhere from just needing a panty liner to needing a pad. It happens a lot when you miss a birthcontrol pill/shot.

How long does it normally last?

I have no clue if I'm finally having a period, albeit a very light one, or if it could be considered spotting.

I haven't spotted for six+ years. I'm not really sure how to explain it to you. I know it comes before your period is supposed to, that's why it's considered spotting, and not just a light period. Hopefully someone else can explain it better. Sorry hun.

A post earlier in the week about how I haven't had a period since the one in March and was worried about maybe being pregnant... For the last week I've been off and on bleeding... like a light flow that sometimes stops for a day...

I don't know if that's what spotting is or if its something else entirely.

The question was more an afterthought of a question. My periods are irregular as it is, and I wouldn't think much of it except that I'm sexually active again and my system has been even more out of whack since then.

Well it really depends on when you have sex and when your periods usually occur. A woman is most fertile right after the period and an irregular period is usually caused by stress.

Well, I took another test this morning and it was also negative, so there's that at least.

On my day off this week (managed to get one without having to explain, just said I wanted a weekday off. Course, the manager who writes the scheduels knows that thurs is my Boy's day off, so she didn't question when I asked for it) I plan to go to Planned Parenthood about BC.

Still haven't made up my mind what sort I want. Probably go for the least amount of effort, the shot. I'm a bit flaky so I can't be sure I'll remember to take any kind of pill the same time every day. That and I drink, which reduces the effectiveness... so between forgetting and that... I'm thinking the shot might end up being best...

Then again the pill would help regulate my periods so I wouldn't have to stress about not having it...

I'm really bad with decisions, as you can see...
