Hi, I'm new. I'm usually in a pretty happy relationship with my vagina, but the past few weeks it did something it's never done before. My period came around June 18th, then stopped the 22nd. Then came back from July 1-2, then stopped and came back today. My period has always been *very* regular, comes once a month for five days, and then stops. So I'm a little concerned, as I don't have any idea what could be causing this...

The only things I've come up with that are slightly out of the ordinary are that I went swimming earlier this week, which I haven't done in years, and that I missed a dose of Lexapro (an anti-anxiety medication). I'm a little skeptical of either of those reasons, since I've been taking the Lexapro for several months now and I've missed doses before.. and I've never heard of swimming having any kind of effect. Hm. The only other pertinent information I can think to include is that I'm 18 and I am not sexually active.

If I can't figure it out in a few days, I'm going to see my doctor. I thought before I went I would see if anyone had any thoughts on what might be going on, so I could try and understand it a little better before I go in for an appointment.

Thank you!!

haha, I don't have any advice I can offer you, since you're going to your doctor anyhow, but I love that you said:

from what i have not long ago found out - it could have something to do with weight and ovary cysts etc.

I am obese (technically) (weighing 135kgs) and i dont get my period at all - havent had it for nearly a year!!!(so not happy about this). But before the last one, it was doing the same sorta thing. Bleed for a few days, then not have anything for a month or more. At first the doc thought it might be PCOS (poly cystic ovary syndrome) and so she ran tests - results said it wasnt that. So the aim is to lose the weight in hope that periods come back.

Im sorry for sharing my life story here, but i dont know your full details here so maybe my story might be of some help??

Good Luck though
