hi! i just joined becuse... i have a menstrual question*_*
i'm 16 and i started my period when i was 12 i think. About the second time i got it it lasted for about a month, and since then i would skip several months and my periods would always last about 2 weeks. My cycle is about normal now, at least i have it about every month, but still usualy for 2 weeks at a time. Last month i started on June 5 and i have been bleeding lightly ever since. I think i just started my new cycle tho because it has gotten heavier this week, but i'm not sure because i never actually stopped at least spotting. Does anyone know what this is or if it is a problem? does anyone else have periods like this?

for some women it takes years (into their 20's) for it to finally be regular but bleeding for that long at one time would concern me a bit. I would suggest a trip to the doctor and they may possibly give you birth control pills to help regulate you. They did that for me when I was about 13.

I think i might go on birth control for it, but i really don't want to because i'm afraid that it might mess me up later in life, that i won't beable to have kids... i don't know if thats true tho :-\ I'm going to get blood work done tomorrow tho so hopefuly that will go well :) thanks!

generally when it is used to regulate your cycle you aren't on it for an extended period of time..good luck!

mine are like that!!! cept I dont skip weeks at a time....I just skip days at a time and they come back for weeks.....I hate it.....but I'm too afraid to tell n e body......I'm only 15......started when I was 11......
