I just started using the Keeper this menstrual cycle. I love it -- it's clean, it doesn't dry me out, and it doesn't create waste. One thing I have noticed though is that the blood collected is super mucousy. Like, when I empty it there will be strands of it 18" long, or when I remove the Keeper there will be a strand of mucousy blood hanging out of me still. I'd never noticed this when using other methods (pads, tampon, or Instead). Is the uterine lining always like this? Or since the Keeper rests up around my cervix, could it somehow be inducing the production of extra mucous? Is this just a normal idiosyncracy of my vagina, or is it something to worry about?

"Blood" is a really loose term for the gunk that comes out. That stuff is the place for the zygote to nestle in, so it's more than blood. "Tissue" is probably a better word for the stuff that comes out.

I get that as well. In fact, the majority of the time (if it's a heavy day) I will always have a "strand" coming out of me. Kinda icky but nothing too big. I think it's normal and that were pads and tampons not absorbent like they are you would see this too. Just a guess though. But you are not alone :) I have a diva cup btw.

I think it's normal, and you just notice it because the cup collects it rather than absorbing it. I was quite surprised to learn how stringy it is...

I used to notice that a lot when I strictly used pads. It's not so much blood like what comes out when you cut your knee, you've gotta keep in mind that it's more uterine lining than regular blood.
