After reading so many pill horror stories (and having my own, I hate the damned things) I've come to this conclusion:

Men should have a pill. At least so that they understand what we're going through to have condomless sex with them.

Sigh.

I know if I didn't have a boyfriend I wouldn't bother taking the damn things.

As far as killing cramps go: I'd prefer to take a couple pain killers once a month than a little pill every day.

heh. while this sounds like it's an accusation about my state of female-liberation, i assure you that i'm quite liberated, and perfectly unwilling to take the pill for my man.

but i do. partly so that he can feel like he's not fucking a plastic bag.

the selfish reason is because rubber chafes. but i'm not sure that mood alteration is an acceptable side effect.

am i the only one who actually *likes* the pill? i had awful cramping, both during my period and in the middle of my cycle, and some really weird mood swings. I was on desogen first, then got switched to orthotrycyclen. aside from some queasiness the first few months (which may have been due to my IBS anyhow) i've been fine, and i like having lighter periods (or none at all if i choose to take it straight thru) and controlling when they come. I've never had breakthrough bleeding or anything strange like that; neither has my mom, who'se been on it for some time. Also, the combination of the pill and taking bentyl (a prescription antispasmotic for smooth muscle systems) has made my cramps calm down to the point that when I take ibuprofen, too, i can barely feel them. which is very nice. and my moods have calmed down, as has my mid-cycle cramping.

I like the pill too, demmit! (Talkin' about ortho tricyclen) It helped me lose weight I wanted to get rid of. But, if guys took a pill of their own, I wouldn't complain. I wouldn't have to remember to take it everyday.
I think I read somewhere that scientists are working on that now...

I Really Like the Pill. Why? because I hate making love to my sweet thing when he is wearing a condom, plus I'm allergic to latex. I mean there is a 7 day margin in which we are still carful bye using other methods. I like the pill because I don't spend 7 days cramped and bleeding anymore, I only spend one cramped and two bleeding. So things are all around good. And the fact that I love sex, taking the pill just makes my life a whole lot easier..... *smile*
