I just wanted to thank everyone who comment on my last entry, and wanted to give a little update:

Last night I told my boyfriend about the possibility of me being pregnant and I asked him to buy me a test after work tomorrow. he's really upset, not angry just very scared.. if the test comes back positive we don't know what we're going to do. his mom would kill him, and my parents would kill me.. but I really want to keep it, if I am.. :\ my boyfriend said he doesn't want a baby before 22 years old and I can respect that. I know I couldn't have a baby at 16 anyway.. my mom wouldn't let me keep it. but this is all in the case that I actually AM pregnant..

I told him to buy me an EARLY detection pregnancy test and that I'd take it today, when we go out. we also decided, no more sex until I'm on the pill..

Finally, what are the possible chances I AM pregnant? I mean, I did start my period, and granted it is pretty light but, okay this is kinda graphic: you know when its really light and its just brown blood instead of red blood, well I have a good mixture of both. I don't know whether or not to consider that light or not, but it only fills about half of my tampon, and this is my third day. oh and I'd also like to add I started my period right on time, not late.

again, any advice is greatly appreciated
and I'll let you guys know how the results came back later today..

i don't know, to me half the tampon doesn't sound that light, i mean given i'm usually way heavier than that but to me light is when you don't even need a pad, you just notice blood on the toilet paper in the bathroom, that kind of thing. totally don't stress. i'm sure the test will be negative, and i'm glad you're being so responsible about this situation. (i.e. taking a test instead of just silently freaking out!)

yeah, the more I think about it, I'm more like, I have a very small chance of me being pregnant but I have to make sure. If I don't take a test, I will stress out wicked bad because thats just the way I am.. I'd me 10 times more sick than I am now :\ heh. plus my boyfriend is stressing out now too so he wants to make sure also.

hey. we were in the EXACT same situation. I was REALLY worried i was pregnant which caused me to be a week late. I was protected, as i think you were too. Yesterday, I got my period but it was REALLY light. just spotting, and brown as well...and usually when i first get it, its heavy so i was worried that i could still be pregnant. But, today i woke up and i hardly even had it this morning. After a few hours I was heavy, which obviously means im not pregnant. Im sure you have nothing to worry about. I know stress (which we both have) causes it to be late, and very light. Just mellow out a bit and realize you got your period. It should become heavier. GOOD LUCK!

we really are in the exact same situation! yes, I did use protection also, but my period was right on time, instead of a week late. I've gotten a little but heavier but not very much. I'm taking a test later today..

Wow, how weird....that is EXACTLY what happened to me yesterday (except I'm on the Patch so I wasn't very worried). I'm 23 and my periods generally follow a really standard pattern (i.e. as soon as I have it, I know it's my period, none of this spotting). But last night I kept spotting and brown, and then finally today it started to be really heavy.

How strange. Maybe it's the moon.

I've had that happen like once...it was really light all the way through for some reason, and while I didn't have the possiblilty of pregnancy to deal with, I was still a little confused.

Don't stress out about it too much (which I'm sure you know already...and it's probably too late to NOT stress anyhow...) I know you said earlier that you didn't know what to do about your mom & birth control, but as long as you can come up with some cash and a ride to your local Planned Parenthood, your mom won't even have to know.

I'd say go & get a perscription for something that's easy to use & hide from nosey parents (the patch might not work for you, but the Nuva ring or the pill could be a possibility. And if you're like I was, your mom probably picks up tampons or pads or whatever FOR you each month, so trying Seasonale (a form of the pill where you only get 4 periods a year) would cause an overstock of feminine products and cause your mom to be suspicious.

So snoop around online. Find out what your best option might be. Go to planned parenthood and get on something. That way you will be protected from babies and you won't be worried every time your period does something funny.

thank you so much, that really gave me a lot to think about.. I really like the idea of the NuvaRing, I just have to bring it up when I go to the doctors next friday. also, once I get my license I can go to the local clinic where they do give free b.c. perscriptions.. so once that all happens.. I can have a much easier time of getting the pill or ring.

That's happened to me a couple of times...I'm a bit of a worry wart, heh...

But Once I didn't have a period for 3 months and was scared of being pregnant and i wasn't even sexually active (but i freak out anyway..don't know why) and since I was so stressed my period wouldn't start...

Another time (after I was sexually active) my period was 2 weeks late because I was freaking out about being pregnant (and me and my boyfriend decided no more sex until i got on the pill).

I wouldn't be too worried if you started your period though..sometimes they're just lighter than usual...

yeah plus I think the fact that I was so stressed out because I was so light the first day, it made my period that much more lighter.. last night it was somewhat heavy, so it made me feel much better, but its back to being really light again. but I'm not worrying about it anymore.

thats so weird that you say that too, that you thought u were pregnant once when you weren't even sexually active.. I've done that exact same thing! haha. I'm a very big worry wart also :)

oh yeah, I'm sorry I never posted, I ended up not taking a test because the next day I went out with my boyfriend and the fact I wasn't so stressed out about the possiblity of me being pregnant, my period got a lot heavier, and the next day was heavy also. So I just assume that because I was so stressed out, thats why I was so light :) thanks for caring!!
